Hey-
This is really a good idea. I used to work for a community network in the Midwest, but they were more into the connectivity piece as opposed to the ‘community’ piece. There are a lot of really cool things that can be done, and I think you are on the right track, so I’d like to help you with it. I now work as an Internet researcher in the central part of the country and my current projects are regional and national in scope. With one group we are getting ready to launch a site at the beginning of October which brings together a number of non-profit groups to address the issue of childhood obesity. In my research for them, I’ve come across some ideas that may help with the outreach you are doing in your community…so we should connect.
